What's parked in my Dream Garage
We did this a couple months back. At that point, there were two challenges to fill our garages on a budget with a few constraints to keep it interesting. I suggested a three car garage with $300,000 to spend and another three car garage with "only" $150,000 to spend. This time around, I will suggest two challenges with a different twist.
Dream Garage Challenge #3
You have four parking spaces to fill in your garage. You have $500,000 to spend in total on four cars and no single car can exceed $300,000. At least one car must be a four door sedan. Cars can be new, pre-owned or classic. What are they going to be this time?
My Dream Garage choices:
My daily driver - Audi RS4 - grey over red leather (new, $70,000)
Significant other's car - BMW 335xi (new, $50,000)
Fun weekend car - Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - orange (new, $225,000)
Other toy - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - lime green (new, $150,000)
Dream Garage Challenge #4
You have four parking spaces to fill in your garage. You have $1,000,000 to spend in total on four cars and no single car can exceed $700,000. At least one car must be a four door sedan. Cars can be new, pre-owned or classic. What are they going to be?
My Dream Garage choices:
My daily driver - Bentley Arnage T Mulliner - titanium over cabernet hides (2007, $200,000)
Significant other's car - Maserati Quattroporte - navy over navy leather (new, $130,000)
Fun weekend car - Ferrari 430 Scuderia - red (new, $275,000)
Other toy - Porsche Carrera GT - titanium over terracotta leather ($400,000)
Weigh in now with your choices! It is tougher than it looks... Comments please.

"Back to the 80's, digitally remastered" theme: One of my fantasies is to have 4 of my dream cars from my HS days in the 80s. To avoid disillusionment and being blown away by a late model hybrids, I would spend significant funds tastefully upgrading the performance, safety and usability of each car. Some might call what I propose heresy, but do you still listen to classic U2 on a casette player?
Car #1/ Supercar: 1988 Lamborghini Countach (pre-25th Anniversary edition). Black over saddle hydes. Evil incarnate. Phone dial rims. No wings. Performance upgrades by Al Burtoni in Gilroy: new valves, pistons, rings, cams, flywheel, ignition system, oil cooler, wiring transfer to Bosch, carbon clutch, Kreissieg exhaust --check out on youtube, the sound will haunt your dreams. Comfort/Interior/Safety: rearview camera system, new air conditioning system, custom hydraulic front end lift system done (by Ohlins?) to ensure I can drive it on real roads/driveways.
Plate name: Dr. Faust
Total Cost w. upgrades: ~$225K ($100K in updates/upgrades -- but wouldn't you rather have this knowing that you can always use the club's Gallardo/f430?)
Car #2/super coupe: 1989 BMW M6 (E24) Arctic White with blue and red M-colored racing stripes on hood/roof (a la 1980s art cars). The essence of class. black and grey custom alcantara interior. Performance Upgrades: Hand Steve Dinan $75K and tell him to make it cane the needlessly complicated,Bangle butted behemoth that no bears it's name around Laguna Seca.
Plate name: Moonlighting
Total cost with upgrades: ~$100K (If you think that spending 3x the value of the stock used m6 in upgrades defines madness, try iDrive)
Car #3 drop top: 1971 Red Ferrari 365Gts/4 Daytona Spider replica... McBurnie Body, corvette chasis from 1980s with highest quality, retro black interior (black and red daytona seats). Key details: use a Ferrari v12 engine from a 412 and a glasspack exhaust and new tremec transmission w. period gates and lever.
Plate Name: Crockett
Total Cost: $150K
(OK, so I know that this bastardization might prevent me from meeting Enzo in Heaven, but what car was more 80's than Miami Vice ride? Imagine a midnight highway run in this thing with Collin's "In the Air Tonight" keeping time with the wail of the v12! No need for a white Testarossa if you have the Countach..)If you don't buy it as legit, then I would consider a 930 cab with modern RUF updates.
Car #4 sedan: 1988 Mercedes AMG Hammer (w124).Black on Black
Plate Name: LordVadar
Cost: $55K
(560 engine is a brickshitehouse, no mods needed)
I just dare you to best that collection of 4 usable badass 80's cars Torbin! Idea for Garage #5, only 60's cars...
Brendan,
I love your choices and upgrades - it's a great take on the dream garage. I'm also particularly taken by the customized plates. With this for your half million dollar garage, I'm just wondering what you could pull off with the garage #4.
Brendan, I didn't know I was separated at birth from you, my brother. You had the balls to say what I was thinking. :0 Nicely executed. What else can I say... Awesome decisions and well selected with the choicest plates. Funny.
Who else feels this way?
